Many of the times you might be touching the edge of the monitor to find the power button to switch off it. Now you can do so, using keyboard. All you have to do is to download a small application called ‘Monitor Off Utility’. So when you go away from the computer, you might press a key and save electricity.
You might set up a HotKey to turn off the monitor. For security, you might lock the workstation using a screen saver. This feature is also available in the application. If your computer is switched on all day long, then ‘Monitor Off Utility’ is a must.
Tip
Even though the ‘Monitor Off Utility’ switches off display, it is actually put the monitor in standby. But if you are planning to go out and leave the computer on standby, then better switch off monitor. It might save your electricity bill.
